A family program fro discover the joy of hicking in snowshoes, alone or with family in the wonderful and preserved
Monts Jura. At the same time à soft physical activity and a contemplation time of the natural environment. For
everybody.

Saturday end of the day/evening:

Mount Rond at night (from 10 years old)
Departure from La Faucille at the end of the day to see the sun set. Once night falls we will be lit by our headlamps (we lend you some) or the stars. Direction Mont Rond.
Meet at 4 p.m. in front of “La petite Chaumière” at Col de la Faucille
Duration: 3 h

Sunday afternoon :

From a bridge to an other in the direction of Jura (from 7 years old)
A mountain river between Jura and Ain as a border. A snowshoeing following the river « Valserine » and discover its beauty. Also to discover the snowshoes activity.
Meet at 2pm at the tourist office of Mijoux Duration : 3h

Monday morning :

The combe of Bossaton
A getaway in the Massacre massif. A winding route from combe to combe crossing mountain pastures and Jura forest.
Meet at 9 a.m. at the Tabagnoz car park Duration: 3 h

Monday afternoon :

Well-been walk in La Vattay forest (from 14 years old)
Winter is the perfect moment for slow down and listen. Listen the soft songs with the snow, songs of our breath. An awakening of sens to make the link between the exterior and the interior. Aware the feelings, the breath, the movements. A contemplative experience, a reconnection time, for yourself.

Tuesday daytime :

From balconnies of Leman to « Crêt de la Neige »(from 10 years old)

Direction the gondola « La Catheline » at Lélex, start for balcony snowshoeing until the Jura’s summit. Amazing view 360° on Jura, Alpes, Geneve and Leman lac. The opportunity to understand how the last ice age built the landscape.

Wednesday morning :

The animal of the Cold (from 4 yeasr old)
Who is past here ? Winter is the ideal season for find indices left on the snow. Plume, pile, rest of the meal, animal’s footprints. In perfect investigator, we ‘ll learn to recognize who left it here and how mountain’s animals survie during the winter.

Wednesday end of day/evening:

Under the Dôle and the stars (from 10 years old)
What a charm to hike on snowshoes as day gradually gives way to night. Once the headlamps are turned on, a completely different landscape awaits us.
Meet at 4 p.m. at the Greffière parking lot Duration: 3 hours

Thuesday daytime :

The High Valley of Jura (from 10 years old)
Start from Lajoux for an excursion with soft profile through the mysterious forest and luminous clearing. Belvedere on the Lamoura’s lac, the higher of Jura and its particularity and snowshoeing in nordic landscaps. It’s also the opportunity to taste the « Jura’s fondue » (hot melted cheese)

Friday day :

Arround « La Dôle » (from 7 years old)
An incursion in Switzerland, direction the Dôle’s summit for its exceptional view at 360° on Jura, Leman’s lac and Alpes. Maybe we’ll have chance to observe mountain goat. Afterwards we’ll snowshoeing through the alpage’s landscap and « pré-bois » typic of Jura until the swiss border rich of history.

Price list :

  • Half day : adult 24€ - Kid : 15€ 
  • Whole day : adult 34€ - Kid : 24€ 

The mountain guide reserves the right to modify the itinerary depending on the conditions to guarantee the smooth running of the outing as well as your safety. In case of no snow, hikes can be done on foot.
Please ensure that you are covered by your insurance for activities and emergency costs in Switzerland.

List of individual equipment:

  • Snowshoes and poles
  • Soft, warm clothing suitable for snowshoeing
  • Warm, high-top hiking shoes or snow boots or après-skis
  • Sun cream and glasses
  • Gloves, hat
  • Bottle of water or thermos (minimum 1 liter half-day - mini 1.5 liters during the day)
  • Backpack suitable for hiking
  • Snack type dried fruit/biscuit/cereal bar
  • Picnic if day trip
